How can I apply to the IMPRS-ML?

Thank you for your interest in our PhD program IMPRS-ML!

Our next application round will start in August 2026. We do not accept applications outside of our application rounds.

Application timeline - 2026/2027

• Online application portal opens on 25 August 2026 (09:00 CET)
• Closing date for submission of reference letters and your application is 07 October 2026 (23:59 CET)
• Online panel interviews will be held on 23-27 November 2026
• Successful candidates will be invited to Munich for in-person interviews and matchmaking on 18-22 January 2027 (IMPRS-ML will reimburse travel expenses and accommodation costs)
• Letters of acceptance sent out by early February 2027
• Accepted candidates should start their PhD no later than 01 October 2027

*Applications can only be submitted with two reference letters
