PhD Representation

PhD Association

The PhD Association is a network of all IMPRS-ML doctoral students at the MPIB and our partner universities (LMU and TUM). It was founded in 2001 and promotes the interests of all its members. The PhD Association works closely with the IMPRS-ML Coordination Office and the MPIB PostDoc Association.

Throughout the year the PhD Association organises several PhD student-driven activities such as:

  • Seminar series with leading scientists from all over the world
  • Career events with companies and institutes from different working areas
  • Monthly networking events to facilitate interaction among the students of the different departments

Max Planck PhDnet

Beyond our local PhD Student community, our PhD students is also connected to peers working at other Max Planck Institutes. The Max Planck PhDnet is the official network of all Max Planck Society PhD students. The group manages a convenient web portal that facilitates communication between students, programs, and the society. The key goals are to strengthen internal organization and collaboration between sites. The Max Planck PhDnet can also be a valuable tool for career planning.
